Programs & Services
Our wrap-around services support the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Below is the full range of programs offered through Faithful 1 and our partner, Hope 4 Us.
Hope 4 Us
Youth & Education
Mentoring
Our multicultural, intergenerational mentoring program pairs caring adults with young people. Mentors “give back” by sharing wisdom and lived experience, helping mentees avoid pitfalls and make steady progress toward their goals.
GED Instruction, Reading & Literacy
Small-group GED instruction for adult high-school dropouts and college-bound learners, with expert tutelage in the five core areas of the High School Equivalency Examination and a strong emphasis on writing skills.
Tutoring
One-on-one instruction to improve overall and standardized test scores, with the organization serving as a liaison between schools and parents to encourage parental involvement.
Computer & Technology
Students learn computer uses, components, and applications, from input/output devices to internet and email fundamentals, taught by certified professional staff. Online education courses are also available.
Youth Leadership
A one-year training program that pairs a youth delegate with a mentor for community and public-service projects, culminating in a two-week pilgrimage to Africa, a life-altering experience that enhances spiritual, educational, and cultural development.
Life Skills
Interactive instruction on decision-making, anger management, time and money management, conflict resolution, and workforce readiness (job searching, applications, and interviewing).
Health & Wellness
Through our medical building, all clients receive comprehensive examinations (physicals, lab workups, dental, vision, and hearing) and counseling. Ongoing healthcare and wellness services address issues that affect our community (heart disease and stroke, diabetes, obesity, HIV/AIDS, cancer, asthma, and more), supported by a physical fitness and nutrition center and routine health screenings.
Housing
Transitional housing provides former inmates a well-supervised Christian environment, including a facility with a restaurant. Affordable long-term and permanent housing is offered on a sliding fee scale for clients and low-income families, with a goal of providing rental units and rehabbed single-family homes for home ownership among faithful families.
Financial Empowerment
Financial Literacy & Money Management
Teaching budgeting, credit repair, checking and savings, and how to generate new streams of income. Participants in the Home Ownership Program are paired with a finance coach early on to prepare to buy a home.
Faithful 1 Credit Union
An onsite, full-service financial institution to help participants and community members with their financial needs. All clients receive membership privileges.
Job Training & Placement
Collaborating with local businesses to establish apprenticeships in diverse trades such as auto mechanics (basic and advanced), landscaping, snow removal, construction, and more, fostering business relationships and lasting employment.
Transportation
Transportation is provided for clients after release and during transitional housing, and to facilitate family visitation during incarceration and transitional housing.
